Tell us about you

Got an instrument gathering dust in the cupboard or attic? Donate it to a UK primary school that really needs it. Simply pledge your instrument below, then drop it off at your nearest Oxfam shop before Friday 17th October 2014.

After submitting your pledge you'll receive an email with your Instrument Tracking Number. Simply take this number to your nearest Oxfam shop, complete a short form to confirm your details and drop off your instrument. Later on you'll receive emails about your instrument's journey, so you’ll know how you made a difference. You are free to unsubscribe from these at any time.

Oxfam and YodelDirect are proud to help deliver the instrument amnesty. The political campaign and petition to improve music education are independently run by James Rhodes.

Oxfam believes in the power of music to change lives around the world. Through Oxjam, the largest grassroots music festival in the UK, and their hundreds of high street shops selling donated music and musical instruments, every year music helps thousands of people living in poverty. Local music, global impact.

Oxfam would like to keep you informed about Oxjam and Oxfam’s other projects and activities. Oxfam will not share your data and you can unsubscribe at any time. Please see their Privacy Policy (This link opens in a new window).

Your instruments

An unused violin? A forgotten trombone? A whole set of recorders? Please specify what you're pledging (detail how many of each instrument in the boxes below). If the instrument is not listed – and isn't electronic (see the black box on the right) or a piano – you can add its name manually.

Terms and conditions

Thank you!

By making a pledge, you’re making a real difference to a child

Now all you need to do is drop off your instrument(s) at your nearest Oxfam shop as soon as possible and definitely before Friday 17th October 2014. Instruments should be brought in their hard case or wrapped up well (e.g. in bubble wrap and a cardboard box) to avoid damage.

Pianos and electronic instruments, such as keyboards and electric guitars, cannot be collected as part of the amnesty.

You will need to fill in a short form at Oxfam in order for the Don't Stop The Music amnesty to accept your instrument. Please do not leave your instrument outside the shop as it may be broken or taken by another member of the public.
